Overcoming Stumbling blocks

For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.
Psalms 56:13 (NIV)

God can take every stumbling block and turn it into a stepping stone.

Many of us have things in our lives that prevent us from moving forward... a stumbling block. It could be something physical … or emotional … the way we were brought up … disappointment. One may have had a really bad childhood or life … but you don't have to get comfortable there and think that that is where God wants you to be. We can also grow accustomed to any sympathy or attention we get as a result of our disadvantage. Believe me, I could throw the best 'pity-party' in town! One can stay there or move forward.

God wants only the best for us. He has so many good things in store for us. Often it's our thinking … our minds that limit us.

Yesterday, a friend sent me a video clip via email … of musician Tony Melendez, who was born in Nicaragua - without any arms. At age 16, he learned to play the guitar and people told him that it couldn't be done. On 15 September 1987, he played "Never Be the Same" before Pope John Paul II. The Pope approached him from the stage to kiss him in appreciation. He now tours as a full-time musician, delivering what the Pope called a "gift of hope".

I was so touched … and inspired as I watched the video clip of this man without arms playing the guitar. If you wish to download it … and be inspired … Click here to view the video clip

It is God's will for us to lead healthy, blessed, prosperous and whole lives. In faith we can achieve this. We should not sit back and wait for God to remove our stumbling blocks before we can go after our dreams. He knows our shortcomings, weaknesses, disadvantages, etc. Commit your lives to God … grow in faith … and ask Him to take every stumbling block in your path and turn it into a stepping stone. With God everything is possible. What you may consider your stumbling block, God can use to help you achieve your dreams (like He did for Tony Melendez). He can turn your negative into a positive.

He wants to bring those dark thoughts … into the 'light of life'. What an awesome God we have!

Now, it's up to you …

PRAYER:

Father, thank You for all You do. I know that You have only the best intentions for me … working behind the scenes creating opportunities to prosper me … I know it's up to me to change my toxic way of thinking and in faith receive all the blessings You have in store for me. I choose today to commit my all to You … and ask You to guide me and help me to grow spiritually … I want to grow closer to You. I ask You to please change all the negative things in my life to positives. I ask You to use every thing that I regard as a stumbling block and change it into a stepping stone … to a life that You intended for me. I love You!

I give You all the praise, glory and honour.

In Jesus' Name.

Amen.
